I’m Kaz Macleod and I got married in 2021 to my wonderful husband and best friend Andy. I knew I wanted a greenery style wedding with a soft and ethereal feel, to bring touches of the outdoors inside, and recreate the large and impressive hanging floral installations I found all over Pinterest, but after finding out the extravagant bill this would leave us with, I was left feeling disheartened.  But knowing how creative I was, I was determined to create the vision I had in my head myself, and started looking into faux greenery and flowers to see what was possible.

I was so happy with my final creation of two long hanging floral installations that were hung over our banquet tables, and when combined with clever placements of greenery here and there (and everywhere!), we had transformed a bare barn into a ‘rustic-elegant’ and dreamy venue that I felt would look good in the pages of any bridal magazine!

While the bulk of the installations were made from artificial greenery and faux flowers, I added some real eucalyptus, ruscus and gypsophila into them to help make them look as realistic as possible and I was blown away by the reaction they received; I knew I was on to something special, and the idea of Lovely Leaves was born.

It took me almost three years to be brave enough to take the leap into the world of being self-employed, but I’m so happy and grateful I’m here now fulfilling my dream of getting to live a life of creativity, handmaking beautiful floral décor that people can treasure forever in their wedding photos. While the business is brand new with limited stock (you’ve got to start somewhere!), I cannot tell you the amount of ideas and inspiration I have for building up our range of stunning floral décor hire items, so check back regularly to see what’s new, or get in touch to talk about a bespoke vision you have that I can bring to life for your special day.

While I run all aspects of Lovely Leaves Hire, Andy kindly helps me behind the scenes in capacity of handyman (and bringer of sanity, cuddles, cups of tea and the best crisps in the world which are, of course, salt & vinegar Discos). As a brilliant engineer, and amazing with all things practical, he generally builds the frames/structures for me, or whatever invention I’ve come up with in my head. Our cats often try to help too, but their idea of helping mostly involves typing gibberish on my laptop and running off with my florist wire.
